Introduction

The Peake and Denison inliers outcrop on the western margin of the Great Artesian Basin (GAB). They consist of rocks of Cambrian to Palaeoproterozoic in age. Copper and gold mines existed in the early 1900s but there has been no mining activity since 1920.
