Basin & Surface Water Management Area: Water Park Creek
Introduction
Waterpark SWMA has a catchment area 1840 sq km and is located in the vicinity of Rockhampton, is bounded to the west by the Shoalwater and Fitzroy River systems and to the east by the Coral Sea. Water Park Creek rises in the north of Colcara Range and flows south into the sea at Corio Bay some 20km north of the town of Yeppoon. Its main tributaries includes Tee-Tee, Sandy and Valentine Creeks.
The mean annual rainfall for the catchment for the 50 year period 1920-1969 varies between 900-2000 mm across the catchment.
