Asparagus
Asparagus is a high value crop and the only one where the majority of production is exported.
Major producing areas
Victoria is the major State for asparagus production, although significant quantities are also grown in NSW and Queensland. In 1996/97, almost 8000 tonnes of asparagus were grown with a gross value of $37.5 m.
